About the Author
I have been a writer from the time I was old enough to recognise that reading was a doorway into my imagination. Poetry was my first foray into the art of the written word. Books were my best friends, my escape, my haven. I am essentially a recluse but this part of my personality is impossible to practise given I have two teenage daughters, who are actually my friends, my tea-makers, my confidantes... 
I am blessed with a husband who has left me for golf. It's a fair trade as I have left him for writing. We are both passionate supporters of each other's loves - it works wonderfully... My heart is currently broken in two. One half resides in South Africa where my old roots still remain, and my heart still longs for the endless beaches and the smell of moist soil after a summer downpour. My love for Ma Afrika will never fade.
The other half of me has been transplanted to the Land of the Long White Cloud. The land of the Taniwha, beautiful Maraes, and volcanoes. The land of green, pure beauty that truly inspires. And because I am so torn between these two lands - I shall forever remain cross-eyed.

Kailin a paranormal phenomena at its finest

Here's the thing, I chose this Blitz & Blog because when I saw the cover of the books and the excerpt plus a chance to read all three for free and in return I have to give my honest review and post my review it's a win win situation. Now I am a fan of T.G. Ayer and this DarkWorld: SkinWalker series, absolutely thrilling with the right amount of action, drama, thrill and paranormal phenomena, aww . . . tantalizing read for the mind. So with that, here's my review of LAST CHANCE, Kailin the panther/walker, wait half human half panther, no wait . . .Niamh or a Wraith Hunter? Which is it? Tears, regrets, farewell and reminiscing, just letting go. "So many times I pushed you away, yet you still came to help me. I didn't deserve you . . . Did Kailin fail? Fate? Sister rivalry, Kailin's thought, "Why does everything that goes on in my head have to be so darned complicated?" "Because your name is Kailin Odel," said Saleem the gorgeous tattoo Death-Talker Djinn and Kailin's partner in crime when they entered the Greylands to rescue her sister Greer. Now what Alpha desires Kailin? Hopefully I will see this Alpha more in the upcoming books, he will definitely stir the pot or can Kailin and Logan's relationship within stand such a threat? Is it a threat? Hmm . . . it might be especially with those alluring honey eyes and sparks of heat racing up and down? On to business at hand, Kailin need to rescue her mother and Angelo, where? Wrythiin, a world of Wraith. The author's writing created so much empathy followed by doubts and desire and anticipation. Next self confidence only to lash out by rage and power, this book pretty much exhausted me which is a good thing. Funny all I did was read this book. I thought it was funny though, such a creative mind to creative writing caused this reaction. Kailin weapon check, special ammo to kill wraiths and demons who can develop such weapons and ammo? You guess it, Tara a Metal-singer, an Ethereal ( Elemental Fae) with the ability to manipulate any solid substance with her mind. Tara must divulge something important to Kailin, this news will probably change things, what could it be? Truth be told, Kalin's mother is the first Hunter and the family genes, SkinWalker bloodline, Uncle Niko and sister Greer are Pariahs. Questions about Pariah not able to change, feeling like it was a defect and treated like it was, will be investigated. All this weighed heavily on Kailin.

Kailin enters Wrythiin, who accompanied Kailin? Second side kick since the first side kick need to be rescued? This person becomes confident and quite the shooter under the tutelage of Kailin plus dibs on the first side kick, "Angelo." Kailin meets Illyria kicking her butt in the tunnels almost sending Illyria off to la..la..land, but wait something stops Kailin. Someone appears and left her shocked. Physically changed and physically "hot," drool worthy. I laughed heartily when Kailin ogled the drool worthy specimen :D I found the story heating up with so much anxious moments and disappointments, distrust, mixed signals and loyalties. Plans are thwarted but it's not due to Kailin's lack of trying just someone is undermining the rescue. Now the turn of events will have a bunch of twist and turns and action. As the story reveal what I felt was suppose to happen but "touche" it did a complete turn around. The real culprit revealed and yet one more bit of surprise added at the end, ha . . ha . . ha. . . What a great twist of event. It worked out quite well. I read all three DarkWorld: SkinWalker stories, the first lead up to the excitement distinguishing the diverse group of Walkers and Kailin's hunt for Wraiths. Let's not forget the infiltration of drugs. The second story was action packed from beginning to end and into two planes Wrythiin to rescue Angelo and Greylands to find Greer. Kailin kicking Demon butts with such precision I was truly entertained. The third (LAST CHANCE) action, yes; but contained the answers to a lot of questions in book one and two. She goes to Wrythiin to rescue her mother and Angelo. So much more to this story but I will leave it up to you to get the book and read it for yourself, you will not regret it. I thoroughly enjoyed all three stories, #1 Skin Deep; #2 Lost Soul; #3 Last Chance. Exceptional writing and the fluency of flow spot on! Thank you for such a thrill of the paranormal phenomena. Her presentation of diversity, ranging from characters to religious belief systems is flawless. As much as I have already praised her talents for creating unique storylines and a well-structured prose, her abilities vastly improve with each novel. I also wish to mention how her characters mannerisms remain the same throughout each novel. That's a conflict I enjoy not having to endure with this particular author.

The opening scene rouses snippets of empathy, tranquility, and loss. Tragic circumstances awakens friction among the characters in Last Chance. The obscurity behind the onslaught of changes everyone in Kai's world must face, compels a vigorous desire for justice and information.  The nagging suspicions are intense to the point of driving one stark - raving mad! (Pointedly: myself)

No matter how serious the plot, it is not without humor, nor is it overwhelming to read. It's as smooth and pleasant as it is intriguing. I feel nothing but admiration for Kai's Alpha strength and level-headed wit. She remains thorough in her tactics and consideration. Though that remains the same, this installment is filled with more well-suited transitions than one could have foreseen. It's fresh and exciting.

Be prepared for new enemies, allies, and ending that shocked me to my core. At the moment, I am still dealing with the effects of this stories revelations. The apprehension I'm experiencing over the details in the next few books has me on edge.
 
The DarkWorld: SkinWalkers series has everything. Shifters, mafes, demons, and fae. It's a thrilling adventure with just enough romance to satiate the desire. Though, I do need to mention that in this installment, Logan and Kai's Romance reaches an invigorating, boiling point. I desperately need more. 

I'm thankful for a new series to read time and again with no loss of satisfaction.  5 stars aren't nearly enough to present the prestine quality of The DarkWorld series.

wow so many plots and twists that you wont see coming ... like Greer and Niko ... and Anjelo and Lily , and also Alphas who are half Alphas may get kicked to the curb due to The High Counsel and wow what about Logan and Saleeme and Omega and their involvement with Celeste and the Sentinel what are their involvements to do with Kai and her mom and Niko and is he really dead or did he truly die in the last book.. also what about Mel and her friend and the Wraith that helps them or are they truly helping or biding their time and if so what are their motives ..... trusts are tested .. friends are betrayed .. family having a surprise and what will the future hold for Kai and her family as well as her friends and what is Omega and where have they put Logan's sister who really is she and is she on the side of good or will she fight against her brother .. will Logan ever remember that he has a sister due to his dreams .... to find out pre order this book as well as up and coming books next year ... also the box set will be available come the 29th .... to buy this or the whole box set for a better cost instead of individual buying which costs more in the long run .. until next book and review .... read on and have more adventures ..

Mickey can’t focus all of his attention on this latest feud, though. While he’d love nothing more than to bury Frankie and make his fortune, he gets pulled off course by a drug shipment that’s been hijacked. In the blink of an eye, Mickey is forced to fight two major foes at the same time. It’s the ultimate war on two fronts.

About the Author
Stephen Huneck (1948–2010) was the bestselling, award-winning author of seven previous Sally adventures and an internationally acclaimed painter, sculptor, and printmaker.

But, fate is smiling in her direction and she'll have a chance to be at a Heaven concert, and even their meet & greet, right in her own town.
Now, to have all of her dreams come true all she has to do is find the love of her life. Ollie's hopes are high as her path crosses several eligible bachelors. But someone comes back into her life sending her into a myriad of self-examinations and commotion.
Love may not be the easiest course in life, but sometimes it can as uncomplicated as adding one and one.

Loads of Fun

This story follows Ollie, short for Olivia, a single woman on the wrong side of thirty (at least as far she is concerned). She is desperate to find a guy, but hopelessly tongue-tied when speaking to the male half of the population, to the point of actually scaring them off. She and her two best friends from high school have just landed the score of their lives, front row tickets to the reunion tour of the rock band that defined their teens, Heaven. The next few months are a whirlwind. Her job as a venue marketing directer depends on the big concert selling out and the chances of that happening appear to be dismal. Meanwhile, a man from her past has found his way back into her life to the dismay of all who are closest to her. It could end with the culmination of all her dreams or she could crash and burn.

I have to admit the forward by the author explaining the origin of this novel really caught my attention. She is right, the idea of meeting your favorite high school band even after 15 years, is too good to pass up. I laughed at the description of Ollie’s teen bedroom. I had a shrine to Wham! and George Michael in my room as a teen. We all know how futile that teen crush would turn out to be, but my goodness he was just dreamy. I had the unfortunate luck to be drinking when I read Ollie’s mom began admonishing her about her obsession for Heaven. My poor computer bore the brunt of my spit take, as I nearly died giggling, remembering almost the exact conversation with my own mother, delivered with such abject seriousness, at the same age.

This novel had a couple of really fine points. The flashbacks to teenhood were done rather well, reminding us what is was like to have those teen celeb crushes that linger as what ifs long into adulthood. I also really appreciated the telling of the band’s story from each member’s perspective. It really gave the reader a chance to catch up with the band in a unique way, while not taking the focus of the story off of Ollie. Kudos to Ms. Knight for not making the band the stereotypical sex/drug gods imploding under the weight of their egos. I want to be a new fan of this band! Honestly the only sore point for me is the title. I am not sure dunces applies here.

This is definitely a book I would recommend to my friends. Young adult readers may also enjoy it, though I think it would appeal more to older readers with life and career experience.

This book takes an interesting look at myths, fairy tales, and dreams through traditional Jungian psychology. There's a wealth of information that can be used on the individual level for trying to understand some of one's personal experiences and cultural influences. Subjects such as evil in fairy tales, the cosmic/primordial man, the shadow, and the union of opposites are addressed in a manner to assist in the understanding of individuation and mythology. Probably a lot of old ideas for those very familiar with Jung or Joesph Campbell, but it might shed a new light on certain matters that are addressed.

Great Guide to Exploring the Self

M.L. Von Franz was one of Jung's greatest expositors, and this volume is a treasure box of her analysis. The fourth and final in a series of her anthologized writings from Shambala, the book shows the range and depth of Von Franz's work and, in doing so, provides a potent and thorough introduction to many of the foundational ideas of analytic psychology--individuation, the shadow, anima/animus, and Self archetypes, the collective unconscious, dream interpretation. Some of the entries were too technical for a layman like me, but most of the book was accessible and provided inspiration and insight into the mysteries of life as discovered through the inward journey.

About the Author

Lita Judge became a naturalist at a very early age when she joined her ornithologist grandparents in the field and was able to able to observe the behavior of all kinds of animals and their young. Her fascination for animal behavior has continued to this day and can be seen in her many books. She has also written and illustrated Bird Talk, How Big Were Dinosaurs?, and Born to Be Giants. Lita lives in New Hampshire.

Loved it!

A beautifully put together book, Born in the Wild, is sure to be a favorite with young animal lovers. The text is very informative and brief enough to be appropriate for younger readers. But the real draw here are the amazing illustrations. There are so adorable. Baby animals are always cute, but Judge's illustrations are especially appealing. For those readers who want to know more, each of the animals mentioned in the book are further described in notes at the end of the book along with a source list and recommended websites. As far as the information goes, the author focuses on the needs of baby mammals including: birth, food, protection, shelter, and movement. This is definitely one of my favorite picture books of the year.

Read aloud for joy and for teaching - PreK-2nd

Oh, what you could do with this book! Buy it as a gift and enjoy it with a small child. Read it aloud to kindergarten students as part of a unit of study--for joy and for identifying sub-topics and related details. Read it again and think more carefully about how particular featured animals are alike and different in 1st-2nd grades.

The author's design is friendly to the primary grade student: a two-page spread with a simple statement like "The baby is hungry" or "the baby grows strong through play" followed by a two-page spread with information on that sub-topic about three particular baby animals. This is so helpful to young students who are beginning to synthesize and think about how a particular group of facts are related. ("Oh, all those facts are about what baby animals eat!") On the two-page spreads about three animals (which vary with the subtopic), the writing is cohesive, making clear distinctions between the animals being discussed. There's lots of room for rereading aloud and asking for students to listen for these distinctions.

Excellent Example of Outstanding Nonfiction for Primary Students

The second graders that I read to were studying nonfiction and I read this book to them. They loved it and I bought them a copy to have in their classroom. As a former teacher I strongly believe in the availability of good nonfiction reading in the primary grades and this book is an outstanding example of excellently researched nonfiction both in text and illustrations.
