Nice second entry in series.

This is a 3.5 star for me, but I upped it on the 'show' of stars because not many readers have reviewed this so far and I don't want to put people off.
This is a second in the series and written as well as the first story - which is to say that the author is still getting her writing chops and hopefully going to work out that you need to outline your story (before or after it is written) so she can see where the errors in continuity happen, which can be glaring.
Anyway, this isn't my type of preferred and enjoyed story: the hero treats the heroine poorly for certain reasons yet she puts up with it and falls in love with him, no matter how much he makes her feel like nothing. I was particularly disturbed by his hating on her physical build, telling her outright, and then showing much much much more enjoyment in other women who had the body type the hero had told our heroine he wanted. Yet she puts up with him pursuing and salivating over these others then easily accepts that he still wants her and finds her attractive because he has a hard on. See why I don't like this type of story?
All that aside, it is a very nice second addition to an expected three part series, although barely a standalone and should be noted as such. It is worth reading if you liked the first story and I plan to read the third. I would suggest to the writer that she add to her Amazon account that you can be notified when she another ebook out so she doesn't get lost in the masses.

What would you do to protect your mate?

This book was even better than the first one and there is more world building to add on to what was started in book #1. I highly suggest reading the first book in the series before tackling this one though. You will enjoy this story much more and I suspect that you may feel a bit lost in this book if you don't.
On to the review. This author excels at creating lead characters that have realistic issues in their lives that need to be dealt with before they can find their HEA. I also really appreciated the way Jameson dealt with writing our hero's character flaws and what they result from. Hopefully without spoilers I would just like to say that when I was growing up we had many foster children and I also worked for Children's Aid for a number of years which gives me the ability to state with assurance that the things that happened to Vesh and his sister as children, do indeed happen in real life as I've seen the results of it myself. The way Vesh dealt with it is also very realistic and while some reviewers have stated they didn't like how he bounced back and forth, again I say that it is indeed quite reasonable. In fact I thought he dealt with things perhaps a bit better than would be possible so quickly. Of course the 'mate' bond definitely helped things along. Too bad there really isn't such a thing in real life.
Braeh is a very strong and resilient heroine. She also has some issues to deal with but nothing as life altering as having to deal with Vesh's baggage. I loved seeing them learning to deal with each other and discover their love.
I also liked seeing Kerrigan and Trager again and we got to see their relationship growing. I love the fact that Jameson doesn't have love instantly solving all of the problems so they can easily have their HEA. I wouldn't really call these books cliffhangers because the MCs definitely get their story wrapped up in such a way that you know that, with perseverance, they will get their HEA. All of them are going to have to work hard for their love though. On the other hand, the overarching series story line is definitely left in a state of tension where I really, really want to read the next story now, like RIGHT NOW!!!
I can't wait to read Cael and Isabesh's story. It is sure to be even more heart wrenching than this book was. I highly recommend this series. I hope you like it as much as I did.
I read this in the kindle unlimited program. Although I suspect I'm going to end up purchasing this series for my 'read again' shelf.

werewolves

Was a pretty good book. The action was kind of slow. Was waiting for the fight to start of Vesh and his alpha Jax who has his sister. Slow in places, but then would pick up. Did enjoy it and it did leave room for more books. Alpha wolf who has been abused his whole life doesn't know how to love. Meets his mate and his wolf starts to heal. Not bad, read if u enjoy this kind of books.
