Readers will be swept away by the harrowing journey taken by the King’s Frog Hunter and his loyal companions, a Great-Horned Owl, a giant tortoise, and a Paint stallion, who must fight to bring truth, freedom and honor back to the Kingdom of Ameram. The story draws on art and integrity, devotion, loyalty, friendship and servanthood as beacons that illuminate truth and sharpen the sword against falsehood and evil. In the ancient land of Ameram, where giant, man eating frogs lurk in the marshes of the valleys, an aging and vain king has succumbed to the evil that is grasping control of his kingdom. His selfish behavior blinds his wisdom, opening the doors of Castle Ambermal to a wicked sorcerer who uses smoke, potions and manipulations to steal the throne and power from the rightful heir, the king’s only child, Ekala. The truthful beauty and accuracy of a skilled sculptor begins the chiseling that reveals an ancient prophecy and its guardian, The King’s Frog Hunter, who gathers a unique cast of characters to help the princess in her fight to save her father and the Kingdom. Together they embark on a dangerous quest that will challenge their courage, test their resolve and forge new friendships while battling to fulfill the Prophesy of Ameram.

My Kids Loved It!
By nontrending dad
Giant frogs, an evil sorcerer, women warriors, and magical swords! What's not to like?! My kids (10 and 8) read this book and really enjoyed it. My daughter, who has been into owls since reading Kathryn Lasky's Guardians of Ga'hoole series, loved the clever and brave owl in this book. My son enjoyed the battles with giant frogs, worms, and lizards. They liked the story so much that after they had each finished the book, they asked me to re-read it to them at bedtime, so I had a chance to experience it as well. I thought the Thalmus character was unique and a great central figure to follow through the book. But the real gems are the strong female characters who overcome all manner of evil and adversity. I also liked the book's length as it kept my kids reading longer, yet interested through the end. My kids and I are hoping that this will be the first of a series of books in the Frog Hunter's world.

Should also be an animated film
By ralph glidden
Ken Young's The King's Frog Hunter would make a fabulous animated film. It is a wonderfully entertaining tale of a harrowing trek featuring the admirable main hero, Thalmus, commonly known as the King's Frog Hunter, and his sidekicks consisting of a Great Horned Owl, a giant tortoise, and a Paint stallion who together with the daughter of a skilled sculptor who only reveals the "stone truth," and the princess of the kingdom embark on a dangerous quest to save both women's fathers and the kingdom. Man-eating frogs lurk in the marshes, giant slithering mud-worms appear from the murky paths, and huge vicious lizards join despicable wizards, and the battle scenes are extremely exciting, no matter what your age. As with all great stories, this one has many levels of meaning, and I look forward to the author's next work.

An Amazing Mystical Journey.....
By Richard Robertson
For his first book, Ken Young has created an amazing mystical journey thru a magical kingdom of Ambermal. The writing is superb and it is well worth reading and enjoying the journey by following the map of the kingdom inside the front of this thrilling story. This book is a marvelous introduction to a strange land of mystery and a King and Queen being served with great distinction by Thalmus who is much more than just the Kings Frog Hunter. Especially good book for young readers or people who enjoy good writing.
