Though he doesn’t even believe in spirits, it takes only one haunting for Levi Muir to become entranced with the beautiful ghostess.
A young veteran recovering from a wrecked relationship, Muir moves to Magnolia for his first year teaching high school English and resides in the renovated old hotel, which everyone knows is haunted.
Despite his skepticism, Muir senses a presence, then smells a unique perfume. Later, he locates an old portrait of beautiful Danielle Gregg, who lived in that suite a century ago, but experienced a tragic death.
His lovely new colleague, Lucy (science teacher and dedicated Spirit-Chaser), tries to convince Muir that the supernatural is real… and not to be taken lightly. Though Muir has been attracted to Lucy since the first day he spotted her, something begins to jam his thoughts whenever she enters his mind.
Intrigued by the beauty and sensuality of the mysterious woman in the portrait, Muir tries to learn more about the ghostess and her untimely demise. Though still skeptical of ghosts and hauntings, Muir can’t shake the feeling there could be more to Danielle’s mysterious 1914 death than the locals believe.
The more Muir encounters the lovely ghostess, the stronger his desire for even more contact! But Lucy’s willing to fight for Levi’s heart, because no self-respecting Southern girl takes second place to a spook.

From the Author
I have always loved the 1947 movie, "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir."
My story differs considerably from that film, of course, but I start with a similar premise: that a human could co-exist with a spook but not be frightened. In the film it was the widow, Lucy Muir. In my story it's a young male teacher just beginning his first job in high school.
From that point on, there are few similarities, though I did make use of several names and places from the film.
I consider this an affectionate homage to that movie... and I maintain if you enjoyed the film, you will like my story.

One Of The Most Wonderful Stories I Have Read In Ages
By Douglas C. Meeks
Do yourself a favor, get a copy of the old movie The Ghost & Mrs Muir and then grab this book. It was a truly amazing reading experience, the story is substantially different but the feeling at the end is similar as a bit of tragedy and a bit of romance combined.
This story of love, romance, tragedy, betrayal and redemption is wonderful. The writing might have became slow at times for some folks (not me) but only because you want desperately to see how it all ends up.
The story of Levi, Lucy and the ghost of Danielle Gregg is heartwarming and heartbreaking and i highly recommend it.

Enjoyable, entertaining and I loved it!
By Denise Keef
Have you ever been in a room and caught a whiff of perfume or flowers and then it was gone? Or you are sitting in a room and get the feeling you are being watched? Well…maybe you are being visited by the spirit of someone who has passed away but was caught in our world unable to cross over as in the case of Danielle Gregg. A beautiful spirit who is trapped in a suite in the Whitecliff Apartments or as it is known to the locals the old Majestic Hotel.
Danielle is trying desperately to move on and will need the help of the current resident in the suite…Levi Muir who is just starting a teaching job for the first time in the English department. He is befriended by Lucy who is another teacher at the school and who is also a “spirit chaser”. Together they will work to unravel the mystery of Danielle Gregg and hopefully help her fulfill her wish but there are unforeseen circumstances that occur that could have dramatic consequences for all involved.
A love story that had begun one hundred years ago with a tragic ending is how this all began but will it have a happy ending for Danielle, Levi and Lucy. With many twists and turns and many no-no moments that should not happen between the spirit world and the real world as Levi is drawn deeper into his feelings for Danielle, it is up to Lucy to try and save him and also up to Danielle to release him from her beautiful spell.
This was such an enjoyable story that I completely lost myself in as I was reading. I loved how Mr. Salter describe each scene and the furniture in the suite which I could picture in my mind and be transported back to a time of elegance. I absolutely loved this book and definitely recommend it to anyone who has seen and loved the old classic movie The Ghost and Mrs. Muir which has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl and watched it with my parents. Please do yourself a favor and get a copy of this book and sit and enjoy a beautifully written story. Thank you Mr. Salter for a very entertaining story which helped me escape reality while I read it.

YOU MADE ME LOVE YOU....I DIDN'T WANT TO DO IT
By Redrabbitt
This clean story kept me captivated with its delightful characters, old southern charm, mystery and suspense and the twist and turns in the plot. Newbie to town, Levi Muir, will be teaching High School English. Coming to Magnolia to get a new lease on his life after a bad relationship and his stint in the military and deployment to Afghanistan. He moves into the second floor, unit seven of the Whitecliff apartments, which in its former days was known as the Majestic Hotel. Fellow school teacher of Science, Lucy Tierney, and ghost chaser, becomes his friend right before school starts. They both feel an instant attraction to one another. She is fascinated to learn he does not know about the ghost and legend of the Majestic Hotel, and that he does not believe in ghost. Ghostess, Danielle Gregg, is trapped in this dimension and needs to cross over to her love, Neddy. She needs someone to help her accomplish that, why not a non-believer, Mr. Muir. The characters are charming, the dialogue is entertaining and the outcome gives the reader not only the HEA ending but pleasant surprises as we journey along the way. What a fun and heartwarming story that is a spin-off from the 1947 movie, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. Disclosure: I was gifted a Kindle copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and ratings are my own.
