About the Author
As a young adult in Israel, Orly Avineri had studied Fine Art in an artists' village overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, and later, in the Netherlands, Graphic Design at the University of Arts in the contemporary yet history-drenched city of Utrecht. Now living by the beach of Southern California with her family, Orly takes in all the magnificence of the landscapes that shaped her and the visual languages acquired along the way. She is passionate about teaching art-making and visual-journaling and about the process of marrying multiple media to create a unique visual experience for herself and others.

powerful artwork from a powerful artist

Do not purchase this book if you want to have instructions or "how-to's." But if you want passion, inspiration and to look into the soul of this artist, you'll love it. The book offers a powerful example of artwork from a powerful artist. An art journal is an expression of the workings of an artist's mind; the art is made for the artist and not for the viewer. It might not be your cup of tea, but it will move you.

The best one yet

I have all three of Orly's books and this one just might be the best. I love her messy uninhibited style. Lots of inspiration here, interesting textures, shapes, figures and yes, skeleton forms. Thank you for sharing with us Orly, you make me want to go make art.

This book is so beautifully done, an inspiring look into Orly's art journals. The print quality of the book itself is wonderful, much more than I'd expected from a self published book. I will enjoy the visual stimulation and inspiration from opening this book time and time again. Kudos Orly!!
