About the Author
Sharon Gosling always wanted to be a writer. She started as an entertainment journalist, writing about television series such as Stargate and Battlestar Galactica. Her first novel was published under a pen name in 2010. Sharon and her husband live in a very small cottage in a very remote village in the north of England, surrounded by sheep-dotted fells. The village has its own vampire, although Sharon hasn t met it yet. The cat might have, but he seems to have been sworn to secrecy and won t say a thing.

"The Diamond Thief" was an adorable, creative read
By ReadiculousGirl
"The Diamond Thief" was an adorable, creative read. It was a bit on the younger side of YA, but Sharon Gosling's writing style never felt dumbed down or too juvenile; it was innocent and charming while being entertaining. I would recommend "The Diamond Thief" to young and adult readers alike who enjoy sweet and inventive adventures. I will definitely be reading the second book, "The Ruby Airship," soon!

5/5 Stars There was nothing really bad about this book
By Brittany's Book Rambles
1.5/5 Stars
There was nothing really bad about this book, but there was nothing that grabbed me. It was right there in the middle. The story never won me over, I kept waiting to feel something, to become attached to someone or something, but nothing. All in all, the book was pretty forgettable.

The Diamond Thief is a wonderful way of familiarising readers to Victorian-set mystery and adventure stories.
By K. Russo
From the very start of Sharon Gosling’s The Diamond Thief readers are immediately transported to the circus, set in gritty Victorian London. Remy literally soars into the act, capturing the hearts of the spectators and promptly seizing the reader’s attention. Readers follow her as she endeavours to take the Darya-ye Noor jewel from the Tower of London but is stopped by an ingenious opponent, Lord Abernathy.
The characters are mysterious and a few are even somewhat larger than life. Remy and Thaddeus are equally marvellous characters, with the concentration of the story moving from one to another during the course of the book. Remy is the superior of the two in regards to development, and readers find out more about her history and her incentives, and I would have loved to have seen the same for Thaddeus, whose background is simply implied about.
I adored the style of Victorian London fashioned by Gosling. The delight of running with the characters in the underground and learning the devices waiting to be discovered was superb. I soared through the book as Gosling uses her talent with style and plot to swiftly draw in the reader, and I rejoiced in the numerous plot twists.
The Diamond Thief is a wonderful way of familiarising readers to Victorian-set mystery and adventure stories.
