About the Author
Mover of Fate is the first novel in The Creator’s Eye series by author and artist R.N. Feldman. Feldman lives and works in Los Angeles, CA where he teaches at Otis College of Art & Design and spends as much time hiking through the local mountains as he can. His love of art, metaphysics, useless scientific trivia, and extensive backpacking treks throughout the world have all been major influences in his work.

Interesting young adult fantasy

>I received this book from the Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock. I am an independent reviewer. This is the first book in the Creator’s Eye Trilogy and ends with a cliff hanger.
>Michael lives on a series on almost undetectable islands on Earth. Strange plants, animals and powers flourish on these islands. One day, armies of green horned aliens begin to capture each city, looking for someone. Michael and his friends, Grant and Maya, and his uncle Sefu are running for their lives. They are trying to escape the islands and aliens and take a boat to the US for help.
>This book was definitely for a young adult audience, specifically male. There were a lot of gory battle scenes, a few illustrations and some potty humor. There was absolutely no romance. I was expecting an adult, romantic suspense and was disappointed. This story read similar to “The Hobbit”.
>The writing was good. The descriptions were vivid and the dialog flowed. There were scenes to pull at your heartstrings. For example, the issue with Michael’s mother was very sad. Looking at this book, from an adolescent point of view, may make the story more appealing to me. I felt the story read a bit like a video game. Lots of action.
>This book is appropriate for a young adult (14+) audience.

An Intriguing Universe Inviting Exploration

Feldman spins a tale set in a fascinating world alike, and yet engrossing different from our own. Characters wield Force-like powers in a colorful world booby-trapped with adventurous portals: rips in space-time called "Folds". If Luke Skywalker lived in an alternate Middle Earth peppered with wrinkles in time, this would be it. Feldman's worlds-within-worlds tap into the deep human desire to create, as well as to explore a wide creation. An intriguing universe, and an excellent debut for Feldman.

A pretty good introduction.

The Creator's Eye: Mover of Fate (Part I), is a fast-moving story that takes the reader to the Magical "pocket world" of Arimbol, which exists in a fold, or pocket of space, right here on Earth. For this reason, I would classify this book as more closely relating to the Fantasy Genre rather than Science Fiction. Also, in regards to the formatting, understand that this story is only Part 1 of 4 of the first book of what will become a trilogy. I personally do not prefer to read books with such a format, but I understand that it has its uses, such as children being slightly less daunted by a smaller format, and it works that way here. As such it is only 269 pages in the paperback version, and so took me a little less than a day to complete. It is appropriately sized however for younger audiences who might wish to read it and it is also of appropriate content for some ambitious younger readers, as it contains only juvenile “swearing” (“round brown”, and the like) and only the very beginnings of a possible future love interest for our 15 year old protagonist, along with some good-natured ribbings from his 15-16 year old friends about girls. Some parental guidance might be called for due to some violence of war, but the story isn’t particularly graphic or bloody. The story quickly begins throwing out names of places and people rather quickly and is supplemented with a map of the “world” of Arimbol, and a map of the island where most of the action takes place. It would have been helpful, also, to have had a listing of major characters to refer back to, but unfortunately it does not have. In all I can say that I enjoyed the story enough that I am looking forward to reading the rest of the adventure.
