I have been a writer from the time I was old enough to recognise that reading was a doorway into my imagination. Poetry was my first foray into the art of the written word. Books were my best friends, my escape, my haven. I am essentially a recluse but this part of my personality is impossible to practise given I have two teenage daughters, who are actually my friends, my tea-makers, my confidantes...
I am blessed with a husband who has left me for golf. It's a fair trade as I have left him for writing. We are both passionate supporters of each other's loves - it works wonderfully... My heart is currently broken in two. One half resides in South Africa where my old roots still remain, and my heart still longs for the endless beaches and the smell of moist soil after a summer downpour. My love for Ma Afrika will never fade.
The other half of me has been transplanted to the Land of the Long White Cloud. The land of the Taniwha, beautiful Maraes, and volcanoes. The land of green, pure beauty that truly inspires. And because I am so torn between these two lands - I shall forever remain cross-eyed.

Kailin a paranormal phenomena at its finest

Here's the thing, I chose this Blitz & Blog because when I saw the cover of the books and the excerpt plus a chance to read all three for free and in return I have to give my honest review and post my review it's a win win situation. Now I am a fan of T.G. Ayer and this DarkWorld: SkinWalker series, absolutely thrilling with the right amount of action, drama, thrill and paranormal phenomena, aww . . . tantalizing read for the mind. So with that, here's my review of LAST CHANCE, Kailin the panther/walker, wait half human half panther, no wait . . .Niamh or a Wraith Hunter? Which is it? Tears, regrets, farewell and reminiscing, just letting go. "So many times I pushed you away, yet you still came to help me. I didn't deserve you . . . Did Kailin fail? Fate? Sister rivalry, Kailin's thought, "Why does everything that goes on in my head have to be so darned complicated?" "Because your name is Kailin Odel," said Saleem the gorgeous tattoo Death-Talker Djinn and Kailin's partner in crime when they entered the Greylands to rescue her sister Greer. Now what Alpha desires Kailin? Hopefully I will see this Alpha more in the upcoming books, he will definitely stir the pot or can Kailin and Logan's relationship within stand such a threat? Is it a threat? Hmm . . . it might be especially with those alluring honey eyes and sparks of heat racing up and down? On to business at hand, Kailin need to rescue her mother and Angelo, where? Wrythiin, a world of Wraith. The author's writing created so much empathy followed by doubts and desire and anticipation. Next self confidence only to lash out by rage and power, this book pretty much exhausted me which is a good thing. Funny all I did was read this book. I thought it was funny though, such a creative mind to creative writing caused this reaction. Kailin weapon check, special ammo to kill wraiths and demons who can develop such weapons and ammo? You guess it, Tara a Metal-singer, an Ethereal ( Elemental Fae) with the ability to manipulate any solid substance with her mind. Tara must divulge something important to Kailin, this news will probably change things, what could it be? Truth be told, Kalin's mother is the first Hunter and the family genes, SkinWalker bloodline, Uncle Niko and sister Greer are Pariahs. Questions about Pariah not able to change, feeling like it was a defect and treated like it was, will be investigated. All this weighed heavily on Kailin.
Kailin enters Wrythiin, who accompanied Kailin? Second side kick since the first side kick need to be rescued? This person becomes confident and quite the shooter under the tutelage of Kailin plus dibs on the first side kick, "Angelo." Kailin meets Illyria kicking her butt in the tunnels almost sending Illyria off to la..la..land, but wait something stops Kailin. Someone appears and left her shocked. Physically changed and physically "hot," drool worthy. I laughed heartily when Kailin ogled the drool worthy specimen :D I found the story heating up with so much anxious moments and disappointments, distrust, mixed signals and loyalties. Plans are thwarted but it's not due to Kailin's lack of trying just someone is undermining the rescue. Now the turn of events will have a bunch of twist and turns and action. As the story reveal what I felt was suppose to happen but "touche" it did a complete turn around. The real culprit revealed and yet one more bit of surprise added at the end, ha . . ha . . ha. . . What a great twist of event. It worked out quite well. I read all three DarkWorld: SkinWalker stories, the first lead up to the excitement distinguishing the diverse group of Walkers and Kailin's hunt for Wraiths. Let's not forget the infiltration of drugs. The second story was action packed from beginning to end and into two planes Wrythiin to rescue Angelo and Greylands to find Greer. Kailin kicking Demon butts with such precision I was truly entertained. The third (LAST CHANCE) action, yes; but contained the answers to a lot of questions in book one and two. She goes to Wrythiin to rescue her mother and Angelo. So much more to this story but I will leave it up to you to get the book and read it for yourself, you will not regret it. I thoroughly enjoyed all three stories, #1 Skin Deep; #2 Lost Soul; #3 Last Chance. Exceptional writing and the fluency of flow spot on! Thank you for such a thrill of the paranormal phenomena. Things heat up between Logan and Kai ;)

Ayer's eloquent writing style once again ensares the readers minds, entrapping them with simple, yet vivid imagery, emotional atmospheres, and unique scenarios. Her presentation of diversity, ranging from characters to religious belief systems is flawless. As much as I have already praised her talents for creating unique storylines and a well-structured prose, her abilities vastly improve with each novel. I also wish to mention how her characters mannerisms remain the same throughout each novel. That's a conflict I enjoy not having to endure with this particular author.
The opening scene rouses snippets of empathy, tranquility, and loss. Tragic circumstances awakens friction among the characters in Last Chance. The obscurity behind the onslaught of changes everyone in Kai's world must face, compels a vigorous desire for justice and information. The nagging suspicions are intense to the point of driving one stark - raving mad! (Pointedly: myself)
No matter how serious the plot, it is not without humor, nor is it overwhelming to read. It's as smooth and pleasant as it is intriguing. I feel nothing but admiration for Kai's Alpha strength and level-headed wit. She remains thorough in her tactics and consideration. Though that remains the same, this installment is filled with more well-suited transitions than one could have foreseen. It's fresh and exciting.
Be prepared for new enemies, allies, and ending that shocked me to my core. At the moment, I am still dealing with the effects of this stories revelations. The apprehension I'm experiencing over the details in the next few books has me on edge.
The DarkWorld: SkinWalkers series has everything. Shifters, mafes, demons, and fae. It's a thrilling adventure with just enough romance to satiate the desire. Though, I do need to mention that in this installment, Logan and Kai's Romance reaches an invigorating, boiling point. I desperately need more.
I'm thankful for a new series to read time and again with no loss of satisfaction. 5 stars aren't nearly enough to present the prestine quality of The DarkWorld series.

Kai and Logan and gang are back

wow so many plots and twists that you wont see coming ... like Greer and Niko ... and Anjelo and Lily , and also Alphas who are half Alphas may get kicked to the curb due to The High Counsel and wow what about Logan and Saleeme and Omega and their involvement with Celeste and the Sentinel what are their involvements to do with Kai and her mom and Niko and is he really dead or did he truly die in the last book.. also what about Mel and her friend and the Wraith that helps them or are they truly helping or biding their time and if so what are their motives ..... trusts are tested .. friends are betrayed .. family having a surprise and what will the future hold for Kai and her family as well as her friends and what is Omega and where have they put Logan's sister who really is she and is she on the side of good or will she fight against her brother .. will Logan ever remember that he has a sister due to his dreams .... to find out pre order this book as well as up and coming books next year ... also the box set will be available come the 29th .... to buy this or the whole box set for a better cost instead of individual buying which costs more in the long run .. until next book and review .... read on and have more adventures ..
